Home-Grown Soup

It's autumn. So let's do this thing properly. Lunch today - home-made soup. Ingredients - squash and home-grown sweetcorn from the allotment, with chives from the back garden. Plenty of bread and butter. Cup of tea. Comfort food? Hell, yeah.

We also had soup for dinner - curried vegetable in our case. It was made with onions, garlic, turnips, potatoes, carrots and peas from the garden, plus red lentils and spices. We had it with home-made bread - which is so much better than the industrial gloop that comes out of most shops these days. Sorry - pet hobby horse on my blog!

But if dinner was good, supper was even better - apple turnovers made with home-made puff pastry and home-made filling. Delicious!

I hope you made loads, and froze some for me, for my next visit?
