ZapRoot Episode 6

Online Videos by Veoh.com

A few weeks ago I commented on the launch of ZapRoot, a weekly short video of green news on the web, aimed at young people. It comes out every Wednesday and I don't know how it's going down with its target demographic, but I find it rather fluffy and content-free.

This weeks' edition is interesting though, with a focus on greenwashing. Apparently the Russians have built a new bomb which they claim is good for the environment. General Motors have built a hybrid Yukon (big 4x4-type van-thing) and are including discreet images of wind turbines in the publicity shots for it. And Starbucks have settled their legal action against the Ethiopian government. There's some bleeped-out profanity so if you really don't like that sort of thing, don't watch.

Each ZapRoot video is just about two minutes long so I'll keep my eye on it and see how it shakes down. But for my money, the Wiggly Wigglers podcasts are much more entertaining and useful.
