January Moon

It's a full moon tonight. I saw it in an almost clear sky, with just a few fluffy clouds close to the moon. The moon illuminated their edges and they seemed to glow pale blue. I love it when it looks like that. It seems very magical. I remember a children's TV series when I was a child about a garden in which statues came to life at night, and the young hero befriended Greek nymphs and godesses and so on. The moon tonight reminded me of that for some reason.

The kids have been out looking at it, too. We don't often see the stars here 'cos of the poorly designed streetlighting, but tonight they're too bright to hide.

Wow. That photo looks as if it is part of a movie, the part where the pirate ship comes sailing into it from bottom right corner. Well done (and what lovely moon viewing you must have at your place!).

I tried to photograph the moon and clouds but failed dismally, so I grabbed that picture from a Google image search for "moon+clouds". I'm not even sure it's real, it looks computer generated to me. I thought everyone would realise it wasn't my photo but perhaps I should have made it clearer. Sorry.
