What's the best thing you can do to help fight climate change? Buy a Prius? Quit flying? Insulate your loft? How about wearing a condom. On Wednesday the UN population fund said that the battle against global warming could be helped if the world slowed population growth by making free condoms and family planning advice more widely available.
As part of a whole raft of measures, it sounds like good sense to me. And of course it's also a crucial part of the fight against AIDS.

No doubt someone will come and say it is against their human rights or religously it goes against the scriptures.
But we have to be more forward thinking that we cant carry on like this. What about your childrens, children. What type of world will they live in if everything goes down the pan.
something to think about. thank you for the post.
I'll do my best, but as a sterilised, post-hysterectomised woman are you really sure it's necessary?
I don't think we'd force people to use them (how could that work anyway? Bedroom police?) But to make them readily available would be great. In the uk a packet of 12 Durex is about £8.00. For low income families, or young adults that's a lot of money.
Hey Yellow,
the family planning clinic give them away for free. You dont have to ask for them they normally leave them in paper bags outside the reception doors.
I used to work in that field.
Oh dear. Does that mean that I am responsible for the world going down the pan?
Five children and no contraception until I was sterilised two years after no.5 arrived...
Fran (who loves her children to bits and wouldn't change a thing, planet or no planet.)
I must have been the saviour of mankind then in my student days!
