The Rt Hon. Ruth Kelly, Secretary of State for Transport, issued a full apology today after it transpired that a cycle lane in Wilmslow, Cheshire, did not contain substantial fragments of broken glass, abandoned vehicles or a telephone box placed right in the middle...
‘This places us in an impossible position’ said one local cyclist. ‘We were already as self-righteous as it was possible to be. This new outrage against our healthy and carbon neutral form of sustainable transport has left us unable to be any more self righteous.’

I don't know if you are interested but the government has told farmers that the whole of the UK as from last Friday has only got enough wheat ( for bread and four etc..) for TEN WEEKS. So stock up whilst you can after that it comes from Europe, and god only knows where!. So not only is fuel going up so will bread and everything associated with grain as a whole. So buckle down folks its going to be a bumpy ride.
Hi Mel, I don't know if you're being coy or if you haven't seen today's observer, but you're in there as on of the top 50 most influential blogs. Well done!
I popped over after seeing you in today's Observer, too. It was quite odd as we don't normally buy newspapers but they had a book about the Earth that the Big Lad was keen to read. So, we bought the paper and found you listed as one of the top 50 most influential blogs.
Congratulations. Now, when can we expect to see Gordon Brown making soap and quilting?
Saw your blog listed at 34 in the Observer's list of 50 Most Powerful Blogs and popped in to see what you've been writing. I'm a relative newcomer to blogging but enjoy the opportunity to express myself and read what others have to say.
I'm sure I'll be back.
