Some people expect a certain level of privacy/anonimity when searching for things on the web. There's a fine line to be drawn here. One could ask her visitors what brought them to her site. Then, they have a choice about whether to participate in such studies of visitor behaviour.

On the www.breastcancerhaven.org.uk site we get a lot of hits for 'celebrity breasts'- who are these people?!!

I get your point, although through Technorati, one can't trace who it was that was searching by particular phrases. Only that someone did.
well, I guess if one is paranoid enough, one could always raise the security level in one's browser. ;-)
