Loaf Baked in Cloche

Here's today's sourdough loaf baked in my poor-man's cloche. I'm going to say no more. The picture says it all.

that looks very tasty, i like. i think i'm going to make a sourdough starter. it's how my mum cooked bread growing up but she's no help as her starter came from her mum, whose starter came from her mum etc... mine doesn't have a clue how you do it and i never understood what she meant when growing up, she'd just say you take some of yesterdays bread and you add it to the flour to make todays bread (also not brilliantly translated as she was never that clear in english and as i never understood the concept i couldn't get what she meant in spanish. i hadn't realised i always ate sourdough at my aunts, i thought it was just lovely yummy spanish bread. the only sourdough i'd ever known i'd eaten was a very inferior supermarket loaf and i wasn't likely to be repeating that anytime - ever!!

Gorgeous. I hope it tasted as good as it looked.

I also want to know if that tastes as good as it looks. Far better than a cow patty, that's for sure! ;-)

For years I've been baking fresh dark rye bread for my family. I make 8 at a time , cut them in half, and freeze. To have a fresh-baked taste, I microwave on the defrost mode for 2 minutes.
