Kethry over at
Urbania to Stoneheads came up with a brilliant idea for
labelling jam jars - paint a square of blackboard paint on them and label them in chalk. How cool is that?
It looks really smart but also home-made, and it's very practical and reusable. I bet I could beg some
blackboard paint on
Freecycle - there must be people who bought some for a project and then kept half a tin full of leftover paint in the shed.

i have to say.. not *entirely* my idea.. i saw something similar over at a well known (and expensive) kitchen company and thought.. "hey, i can do that!". (I keep doing that with their things, the giftwrap holder i first saw there too.)
However, thanks for the link and the kudos - and no, i don't mind at all!

We did all our spice jars like that quite a while ago, and it's lasted ever since and they still look great, plus you can use lots of differently sized and shaped jars, but tie the entire 'look' together. Very ethnic chic!
Plus Mel we still have some of the paint left, so you can have ours.

What a fabulous idea - I will definately be trying this.
Thanks

Fantastic idea. I've never been hot on white sticky labels but couldn't think of an alternative.
Hey Mel, you're wine will look cool if you did the bottles like that too.
There is one downside to blackboard labels - our small boys like to look at and handle all our jars of food, which means the descriptions rub off.
We've gone back to white sticky labels until they tire of playing with the food.
Hi there,
Incase it is of any interest to you, a while back i found a british labels company who print many types of sticky labels for a really low price, if interested may be worth taking a look at their website.
