Christmas came early to Bean-Sprouts this morning, with the delivery of an apple crusher and 9-litre cider press. I must have been an awfully good girl this year. Thanks Santa.
hey Frankie - our local homebrew shop hires one out for 10 quid a day - good for having a go! - maybe someone hires them near you?
i would like one too, *jealous* but they are wayyyyy too pricey (how does this get the tag 'frugal' ? have to squeeze alot of juice to earn its keep....) we bodged our own homemade press in the end... Enjoy Mel - tis a thing of beauty.. and good for all that wine and cider !
colour it green said "how does this get the tag 'frugal' ? have to squeeze alot of juice to earn its keep..." Ha ha! I take your point, but since Santa gave it to me, from my point of view it's free apple juice, which is pretty frugal. But I think I can make it pay its way. (quick back-of-an-envelope calculation...) A hundred bottles of free premium organic cider and it'd be well on its way to breaking even. No worries.
